Join us at the Kuumba Imani Millennium Centre on Wednesday 29th April for our Joyful Movement Workshop led by Ithalia Johnson – Dance Artist, ADHD Coach and founder of Joyful Journeys.
This session will be part of our Move For Your Mind series, a brand-new campaign which aims to make exercise accessible for adults living with ADHD.Â
Made possible with the kind support of Sport England’s The Movement Fund, our Move for Your Mind campaign will give you the chance to learn more about the link between ADHD and exercise, try out different ways of moving your body, and get ADHD-friendly tips on developing an exercise routine you can actually stick with.Â
Our Joyful Movement Workshop will take place at the Kuumba Imani Millennium Centre in Liverpool from 6:30pm – 8:30pm on Wednesday 29th April.Â
This is a 90-minute, feel-good session designed with ADHD brains in mind – structured enough to feel safe, but flexible enough to keep things engaging, playful and freeing. Through guided movement, music and connection, you’ll be invited to move in a way that feels natural to you – no pressure, no perfection, just real joy.
After the 90-minute movement session, there’s time to stick around, have a chat and enjoy some refreshments.
What to expect (so your brain can settle):
- Gentle arrival to ease into the space
- A guided warm-up to awaken the body
- Joyful, music-led movement to explore rhythm and expression
- Optional partner/group exercises to connect and find a movement buddy
- A grounded, calming close
Why this works for ADHD brains:
- Clear structure (you’ll know what’s coming next)
- No long periods of stillness
- Freedom to move, stim, rest or adapt
- Music and rhythm to support focus and dopamine
- Connection without pressure
