Introducing Our ADHD & Exercise Campaign: Move For Your Mind

10 January, 2026

Here at ADHD Connect HQ, we’ve been busy behind the scenes preparing to launch our brand-new campaign all about ADHD & exercise, Move For Your Mind.

Kicking off in February, Move for Your Mind will consist of a series of in-person and online events, where participants can learn more about the link between ADHD & exercise, try out different forms of movement, and get ADHD-friendly tips on developing an exercise regime and actually sticking to it.

Made possible thanks to the kind support of Sport England’s The Movement Fund, this project aims to make exercise more accessible for adults living with ADHD, who have both unique challenges and potential gains when it comes to maintaining a healthy exercise routine.

ADHD Connect provides safe space for adults with ADHD to connect with like-minded people and access peer-to-peer support. In a recent survey, 100% of our members surveyed reported that they feel their ADHD prevents them from sticking to a regular exercise routine. This was down to a variety of reasons, including difficulties with time management, procrastination, task initiation and low confidence. Crucially, exercise, whilst challenging to maintain for adults with ADHD is also one of the most powerful tools to manage ADHD symptoms and improve mental wellbeing.

In order to tackle some of these barriers, Move For Your Mind will aim to give adults with ADHD the tools and confidence needed to develop and sustain a physical activity routine. The programme, running over a six-month period, has been tailored specifically for our wonderful ADHD community. It will include: a Movement Session with local ADHD Coach & Dance Practitioner, Ithalia Johnson; an online talk on the scientific connection between brain and body by Sonia Ponzo, and three in-person workshops with local charity, Everton in the Community.
